In-Stat/MDR, a tech-market analysis firm, published predictions for the release of Microsoft's second entry into the console market sometime in the later part of 2005. This may not seem like news, as there have been rumors all over the internet for quite some time about the upcoming Xbox 2, but the report, titled "Game Consoles 2004: Waiting for the Next Generation," also includes information about Sony's plans for the PS3 and what Nintendo thinks about the situation.

Ubisoft, one of the world's largest video game publishers, today announced its plans to launch a new Tom Clancy's Rainbow Six opus on PlayStation 2, Xbox and PC during Spring 2005. The game is being developed by two of Ubisoft's award-winning studios: Red Storm Entertainment.
