The graphics definately don't come close to the 2005 edition. Think of them as a crappy looking PS2 game since it's not good enough texture wise and player model wise to look like a PS2 game, yet at the same time not nearly as bad a PS1 game. I mean they are very solid for a handheld game but it's a step down from the PS2 version of Tiger Woods 2005. Still, the animations and courses still look great for a handheld game.

If you've played Tiger Woods 2005 then there really isn't much to talk about when it comes to sound. Same commentary and sounds as the console versions and still sounds great. The commentary is boring to listen to but it replicates golf announcers, so I give it the thumbs up. The controls are actually very good in Tiger Woods PGA Tour. Everything feels very smooth and there isn't any "Press R + L + X" kind of controls. My only complaint is the analog stick, analog disc, whatever. After a while you get used to using the disc but in the meantime you will really have a hard time doing decent in tournaments, skin games and such. Also I feel the spin feature is still arcadey and cheaty since you, obviously, can't do it in real-life and the point of the game is to replicate real-life golf.

Just like Tiger Woods 2005, the legend tour is great. Also just like 2005, Tiger Woods PGA Tour has lots of unlockables ranging from golfers to courses, clubs, watches and much more. The gameface also makes a return, however it takes ages to load it up. Talking about loading, that's the biggest downfall in Tiger Woods PGA Tour. Not only are hole-to-hole loading times between 10-20 seconds, there is also 2-5 seconds of loading between shots some of the time. Plus add 30-60 seconds for the game to start up and 20-30 seconds for a course to load up, the loading times can get real annoying. Luckily it is something you can get past after playing the game, but it is still a huge negative. The gameplay thankfully makes up for it and provides an experience much like, guess what, Tiger Woods 2005. To be honest I don't know why they didn't do something like THUG 2: Remix where instead of calling it "Tony Hawk" or "THUG" they just change the name a bit since it is basically the same as THUG 2 and just name this something like "Tiger Woods 2005: PSP" considering it is extremely similair to it's console parent, Tiger Woods 2005.

I am very surprised with Tiger Woods PGA Tour. I was expecting Tiger Woods 2005 but a few steps down gameplay wise, graphics and sound. Instead it is almost a carbon copy, which is great. Without a doubt if you really liked Tiger Woods 2005 and enjoy golf games, buy this game. You won't regret it.
